Shepherd's Pie

On Friday, October 13th, we had so much fun in the kitchen making shepherd's pie.

I will admit this where I got my hands dirty and truly enjoyed making our own mashed potatoes!!! It was a fun process to do, especially with my love by my side in the kitchen.

I will also admit that I went on a binge with mashed potatoes and even mashed sweet potatoes. SIDE NOTE... let it be noted that if you're making mashed sweet potatoes add in brown sugar and cinnamon to your taste preference and you won't regret it!

With the mashed potatoes we also made our own gravy with vegetable stock, flour and melted butter and of course a dash of salt and pepper to taste... so yummy and I will never make gravy any other way again.

The Shepherd's pie was fun to make.

The final touches of it with making it a bit crispy for the mashed potatoes on top was our preference, but not too soft. I really enjoyed this recipe, I personally would probably not add in chickpeas next time, but it was yummy to say the least. I would make this again though I am not a shepherd's pie person.
