Jackfruit Tacos

November 27th, I tried jackfruit for the first time. We were at Sprouts shopping around and browsing when I saw the box that caught my eye. It was jackfruit that was unseasoned as well as the box next to it that was BBQ jackfruit. Of course we had to try it!

The box was not too small... the unseasoned jackfruit was 7 ounces. The BBQ jackfruit was 10 ounces.
We made it quite a simple meal.
We added grapeseed oil to a medium heat pan and then emptied the pouch into the pan and cooked it for 10 minutes. Once it was done we made our own tacos.
I will admit that the unseasoned jackfruit we spiced up... I used brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, pepper, ground mustard, and chili powder from a previous recipe for pulled chicken that is found at makeitdairyfree.com

Those tacos were great with a bit of whichever kinder sauce of your choice and some cheese.
It was a great and very simple recipe and meal that did not break the budget. We used Siete grain free taco shells, daiya cheddar cheese (only shredded cheese we had on hand) and of course we used our kinder sauce that we were craving and wanted with the tacos.
I enjoyed this very simple meal... yes I said it again!
I look forward to trying more jackfruit recipes down the road that we find.
